Left on Market

Help, from a person.

Left on Market is small. There’s no ticket queue and no chatbot — email reaches someone who works on the software.

Getting it running.

Any VST3 or Audio Unit host on macOS 15 or later. Logic Pro, Cubase, Ableton Live, Reaper and Studio One are the ones we test against — the AU build ships now, so Logic works.

Windows is built and tested but not yet distributed: getting it to you properly means going through Microsoft, and that’s the part we’re still working through. Pro Tools (AAX) is on the roadmap without a date. Get notified when they’re out.
No — Apple Silicon and Intel are both supported. macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later is the real requirement.
After you buy, you’ll receive the installer — a file named LyricBinder_<version>.pkg — along with your license key.
Double-click it and follow the prompts. macOS will ask you to authenticate, because the plugin installs into a system folder. The installer also bundles an uninstaller.
An effect. After installing, trigger a plugin rescan, then add LyricBinder as an insert on any track — a vocal track is the obvious home — and open its window.
Force a full plugin rescan in your host’s preferences — most DAWs cache their plugin list. In Logic Pro it appears as an Audio Unit under Left on Market, and Logic validates new AUs on first launch, so give it a moment before worrying.
LyricBinder is signed and notarized by Apple, so a Gatekeeper warning is not expected. Re-download in case the file was truncated, and if it happens again, please tell us — that’s a bug on our end. Note that the installer’s “Signed by” detail shows the legal signing name of an individual rather than “Left on Market”; that part is normal.
Run the uninstaller bundled with the installer. Your lyric files are untouched — LyricBinder only ever reads them.

Day to day.

A plain Markdown file, or a Google Doc. Sections come from the headings already in the document — you tell LyricBinder which level to treat as a section, anywhere from Heading 1 to Heading 3, and everything beneath one belongs to it.

That means you can keep writing the way you already do. If your song titles are H1 and your verses and choruses are H2, choose H2. If you only ever use one level, choose that. There’s no special syntax beyond headings, and a clean-text toggle renders everything as plain lyrics if you’d rather not see the formatting at all.

LyricBinder is by default read-only and never writes timing or other settings back to your file. A basic “edit” function is available which allows in-plugin updates to your file should you wish to make them.  Google doc access is read-only.

Check three things: Follow is enabled, your sections are mapped to bars in Arrange view, and the DAW’s transport is actually rolling. Unmapped sections get flagged rather than guessed at, so an unmapped song will sit still.
They’re how you choose the precision of the highlight. Out of the box, tracking is section-level and needs no setup — the playhead drives auto-scroll straight from your Arrange mapping.

Follow Modes are an optional layer on top, and there are two. Keyswitch mode highlights the exact line or word when it receives a MIDI keyswitch — program them into the part, or trigger them live from a controller during a take. Melody mode reads a MIDI clip of the vocal line and follows the notes, so the melody you already wrote becomes the timing map.

They layer on rather than replace, so you can map a song roughly today and tighten it to the word later without redoing the mapping. And you never have to use either one.
Yes — that’s what Singer view is for. Pop it out into its own window and drag it to a second monitor, or an iPad running as a display. Font size is adjustable, and there’s a full-song mode.
No. The source is watched, so saving in your editor pushes the change into the plugin live. If you renamed or moved the file, re-link it.

The other questions.

By default, nothing at all. Anonymous usage analytics are opt-in, off until you turn them on, and switchable off again from the About panel. They never include lyrics, section names, file names or paths, or your Google account. Full detail in the privacy policy.
Only the specific document you pick. LyricBinder uses Google’s drive.file scope, which grants access to files you explicitly choose — not your Drive as a whole.

A purchase gives you a license to all platforms and formats made available for the current 1.x plugin version.  Any potential future 2.x+ version with significant new functionality will offer discounted upgrades to existing customers.

Up to three. One license is for one person and can be active on up to 3 computers at a time. To move to a new computer, deactivate the old one from inside LyricBinder first. If a computer is lost or broken, you can free its slot in your Polar customer portal, or email us.
Yes. Your license includes every update within the major version you buy (for example every 1.x release), on every platform and plugin format we release for it, including ones added later. A later major version, such as 2.0, is not included and may be offered separately. Your license never expires, and you can keep using the version you have.
If you have not activated your license key yet, yes. Email us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Once a key has been activated, no refund is offered. The full details are in the terms of use.
Tell us your macOS version, your DAW and its version, the LyricBinder version from the About panel, and what you did right before it went wrong. If it’s a follow/scroll problem, mentioning the tempo and time signature helps a lot.
